2010 High Power Rifle Match Schedule

Location : On Rt 46, West of New Braunfels, TX (see map)

Rules : Current NRA High Power Rifle rules will govern.

Entries: Will be at the firing line

Entries Close: Entry will close at 0845

Fees : All matches $20, juniors $10

Time of Firing: 0900 hrs.

Squadding : Individual matches will be squadded prior to the match.

Classification: NRA classification will be used in all approved matches. Unclassified competitors will compete in the Master class. Assigned and temporary classification may be used. F-Class will fire in a separate class.

Pit Service : no pits available at this range, competitors will walk to 200yd line to score targets.

Challenges: $1 will be charged for lost challenges. Scores can be challenged only prior to awards.

Rifles : NRA match -Rule 3.3; or service rifle -Rule 3.1,.3.1.1, or 3.1.2. NO 7.62 x 39 cal..

Sights: Metallic only – Rule 3.7a,

Targets:200 yd – SR, 300 yd reduced – SR-42, 600 yd reduced- MR-52; Garand matches: 200yd – SR

Ammunition: Furnished by competitor, except for JC Garand matches where ammo can be purchased. no tracers or AP.

Coaching : Allowed during the firing of any matches for juniors and new shooters.

Sighting Shots: 2 / MATCH – fired and scored in the individual matches.

Course of Fire: order of firing may vary (i.e. 600 may be first due to afternoon light conditions).

Match 1 - 10 or 20 record – Standing, slow fire, 200 yds, SR target. Rule 5.12

Match 2 - 10 or 20 record – sitting or kneeling, rapid fire, 200 yds, SR target. Rule 5.8 or 5.10

Match 3 - 10 or 20 record – prone or sitting, 300 yd reduced, SR-42 target. Rule 5.6

Match 4 - 20 record – prone, slow fire, 600 yd reduced, MR-52 target. Rule 5.6

Match 5 - 50 shot aggregate – National Match course

Match 6 - 80 shot aggregate – Regional Match course

Match 7 – 10 record – prone, slow fire, 200 yds, SR target. JC Garand/Vintage Rifle Match

Match 8 – 10 record- prone or sitting, rapid fire, 200yds, SR target. JC Garand/Vintage Rifle Match

Match 9 – 10 record- standing, slow fire, 200yds, SR target. JC Garand/Vintage Rifle Match

Match 10 – 30 shot aggregate – JC Garand/Vintage Rifle Match

Range Map – Range address is 420 Range Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78132. After you get to Dietz’s Gun Shop go to first dirt road on the left (see silhouette sign) and follow it past the old mobile home and a couple of small shooting ranges on the left – go past mobile home approximately 300 yds. and go thru the gate. It should be open if it is a match day.
