SMALLBORE January 2010
Posted by: | CommentsOur December match was again lightly attended with only three prone shooters and three 3P folks. The high score amongst those on their bellies was Leonard Trevino with 598-33X. Of the young folks who fired pone, standing and kneeling positions, Katie Bridges posted the high score of 937-32X.
Our next matches could be scrubbed as this is the cold time of year. Wayne will email the usual shooters with an up-date well before the match. Be sure to check with him before you drive out there. Dates are February 13 for a 600 point prone, and March 13 for a 1600 prone and 1000 point 3P.
Smallbore August 2008
Posted by: | CommentsOur July match was a 600 point contest fired on a hot day in South Texas. Attendance was good with 18 prone shooters and 2 three-position shooters. Top dog in the prone event was Leonard Trevino with 595-31x followed by Wayne Nunn with 593-31x and John Ruckmans 591-30x. On the 3-P end of the range it was a father and son event with Daniel Ramos beating his son David 543-11x to 494-2x. (Just you wait Doc, he’ll catch up one of these days and won’t you be proud!) The next match will be July 12 and it is another 600 point affair. Be there at 8:00 to set up and first rounds downrange at 9:00. It’s gonna be hot!
Mark your calendars on October 11-12. We will be hosting the TSRA Small Bore Prone Championships at Blackhawk range. This is a 3200 point match with the first day devoted to metallic sights only and the second day for any sights. This match should draw many of the best shooters in the country. Wayne Nunn could use a little help getting ready and perhaps running the match.

SEPTEMBER 2008 Smallbore
Posted by: | CommentsTwenty one dedicated .22 aficionados assembled on the Blackhawk range on July 12th to test their skills. Sixteen of them were prone shooters and five were of the three-position persuasion. Finishing first of the prone shooters is our small-bore director, Wayne Nunn with a score of 593-35X. Behind him were Leonard Trevino with 591-29X and your scribe, John Gaines with 585-28X. It was a muggy day, but a good shoot none the less.
